Learn to Knit a Hat
Learn to knit a hat in the round. This 2 week class will cover knitting in the round on double pointed needles, reading a pattern and decreases. Learning to knit in the round is an essential skill for any knitter to have under their belt. Just think of all the things that can be made in the round, without having to sew up any bulky or fiddly seams! This class is perfect for beginners who are confident with casting on and knitting and purling stitches.
In the first week we will learn the basics of following a pattern, cast on in the round on a circular needle, and work the ribbed brim. In the second week we will work the decreases for the top and finish the hat off, as well as troubleshoot any questions that have come up.
The class requires the materials to make a chunky hat. If you order with your class booking please select Click and Collect and I will reserve your materials and bring them along to the class. I will also have a selection of appropriate yarns available on the day.
You will need 100g of super chunky yarn and 8mm 40cm long circular knitting needles. You may also want a set of 8mm double pointed needles.
Classes are held at Patch Chelmsford, 5-7 Grays Yard, Springfield Road, Chelmsford CM2 6QR. It is next to Nando's in the town centre.
The space is accessible with step free entrance and an accessible toilet next to the teaching space. Please get in touch in regards to any additional accessibility needs or concerns.
