This shawl was designed in conjunction with the London shop Knit With Attitude. The blocks of colour are bold and yet practical for any knitter to wear.
I designed this shawl while I was waiting in Toronto for a visa to return to the UK to reunite with my then fiancé (now husband!). The triangle sections and block areas are inspired by traditional quilt patterns, particularly the flying geese for the triangles. The name Homeward Bound is a reference to that waiting time as well as migrating geese as they travel to and from their seasonal homes.
It is a fun way to play with colour or to stashbust leftover bits of sock weight yarn. I’ve knit one using all the wool/silk and fancy blends that I wouldn’t use in socks, as well as some bits of mohair for an added texture difference.
This is an A4 printed pattern which will ship in a hard backed envelope.
